“My bride I have called you out of the world and into my light. Be not caught up in the affairs of the world or the defilement of it. Be cleansed from the events and activities of the world. News, social media, entertainment and events. Pray for the world and salvation of souls. Be separate, Holy and acceptable to me. The world and its filth cling to some of you as you look at the evil. Look up and set your mind on heavenly things above, doing good works wherever you go. I am with you it is time to abstain.” This is what I heard from the the Lord when preparing this teaching.
Isaiah 52:11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the Lord.
James 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? God is a jealous God and we don’t want to upset Him do we. When we are in fellowship with the world the spirit becomes jealous.
Sometimes to abstain from the world we must separate from relationships we shouldn’t be involved in anymore. Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed. Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. We see in the above scripture from John that nothing of the world is of God. Pray can help you stay focused on God and not the things of the world. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing;
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. When we are conformed to this world then our minds cannot be renewed as easily if at all. Making it more difficult to abstain.
John 15 :19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Don’t be surprised that people who are not born again will not like you when you abstain from the things of the world.
1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
